Ruth Davies BA Hons, FISTD, ARAD, RAD TC
Ruth Davies trained at The London College of Dance gaining a BA Hons in Dance. Since graduating in 1998 Ruth Davies furthered her training at The Royal Academy of Dance and The Penny Meekings Teacher Training Centre. Ruth holds teaching qualifications in ISTD Ballet, Modern, National and Tap and the RAD Teaching Certificate. Ruth holds Advanced 2 certificates in ISTD Ballet, Modern and National and RAD Ballet. She gained her ARAD in 2006 and was rewarded Fellowship status with the Imerial Society Teachers of Dance Ballet Faculty in 2007.
Ruth is the principal of two dancing schools and also lectures for The Centre Performing Arts College and Penny Meekings Teacher Training Centre. Subjects covered include Health and Safety in Dance, Lifespan Development and Learning in Dance and the Background to a Chosen Dance Genre. Ruth has guest lectured for a number of organisations and colleges including the ISTD Chichester Summer School, Italia Conti, Guildford, SLP College, Leeds, and NAPA, Hull.
Ruth teaches Vocational Ballet at The Centre and also trains students for the practical elements of their FDI and CDE Ballet Teaching exams. She has mentored for the RAD CBTS programme and also guest tutored on the Suffolk County Ballet Scholarship Scheme coordinated by Dance East. Ruth worked in the public sector for four years teaching and coordinating A Level and GCSE Dance.
